Collab between [@Burthstone] and [@Crimson Raven]
After about a dozen minutes Gregory would roll his eyes, and cross his arms. "Is there a reason you wish to waste my time?" He'd say, looking displeased. "That is just what I do best." Hawkins said, smiling. Gregory would roll his eyes. "Well, ask away." "Then I will get right to it." Hawkins said as he pulled out his notepad and a pencil. He flipped a couple of pages, then said, "So, I heard something interesting, your guild, on your orders, captured and held one..." He consulted his notepad. "...Mithera." He leaned forward. I am enjoying this. He thought. "You are aware that if this is true, you could be disqualified from the games?" He asked. "I'm aware, but I had no knowledge of Mithera being taken here." His voice would be level, and he'd cross his arms. "I can't really help it if it was done without my orders, can I?" Hawkins watched him intently. "Even if it was done without your knowlage, or consent, you, as the guildmaster, are responsable for the actions of your guild. That aside, you expect me to belive this was all a misunderstanding? That your guild is the victims here? That Guild Master Jamie is making this up? " Hakins shook his head. "I do not know what has come between your guilds, weather its these Games or some past greviance, but it would be best if you dropped the lies and told me everything. Sooner or later, the guilty party will be found and the proper punisment given." "If I was lying about not knowing anything about the kidnapping, and told you, then my guild would be quite unhappy with me because they are, in fact, enjoying the games. Besides that, if the Mithera Kidnapping was carried out by my guild, it was likely carried out by my wife and doesn't have anything to do with the games, seeing as that little dragon has a close connection with my daughter, who I haven't seen in seven years now, so Delilah might've been trying to track her down." Gregory would fold his hands in his lap. Hawkins nodded and wrote on his pad. "I see, " He said thoughtfuly. "Tell me about this...connection." Gregory would lick his lips before speaking."They have a blood convenant with each other. When they're close their magic affects each other than they can speak telepathically." Hawkins studied him closely. "So how does that lead to kidnapping her, in the middle of the Games?" He asked. "Well, two probable solutions. One, it'd be because Mithera knows where Melina is, or two, because their blood is mixed, my son could use Mithera's blood to track Melina." Gregory would say this wrather matter-of-factly. Hawkins raised an eyebrow. "Have you ever considered ASKING for her cooperation?! " He said, exasperated. Gregory would sigh. "I'm not the one who went and kidnapped her. I already have a good idea of where my daughter is without bothering Mithera." Hawkins nodded and wrote a few more things down. "One last question," He said without looking up. This is what I need. "Do you know who attacked your guild?" Gregory would shake his head, "No, I don't know who exactly attacked us, but they can bet their asses I will find out." His voice seemed oddly direct at this, and he'd look Hawkin's in the eye. Hawkins smiled politely as he stood up. "Well, I wish you luck and strongly suggest if you do find out who, to report them to the soldiers and let them handle it. Or, at the very least, take it out of Crocus. You have already infliced enough damage to the town." He turned, walked over to and opened the door. He held it for Gregory. Gregory would just nod a bit, and went to the door once Hawkins was there. "I plan on reporting them to the soldiers if I find out who they are while we're still in Crocus. Outside of the city, few promises can be made." He'd leave as the soldier opened the door, and he'd return downstairs to find that the main floor had mostly been cleaned up. The table and chairs that weren't salvageable had been removed and what could be fixed easily had been. Hawkins followed him, deep in thought. I came to get information, I've accomplished that, now how to get away without arousing suspicion... "Hawkins" looked around the too famillar room. He walked outside, casualy, his stride purposeful, like he knew what he was doing. "Act like you belong, and people will assume you do." Thanks for the advice, Rin. He thought, slightly saddened by the thought of his friend. I wonder what became of him, although, he is probably long dead. Hawkins went over to an idle soldier, and asked "Do yo know where the captain went? I need to give him my report." The soldier answered but Hawkins interrupted him. He looked over the man's shoulder and pretened to start in surpris. "Over there! Hey you, stop! He took off running down a dark alley, as if he was chasing someone. "Sir?!" The soldier, taken by surprise was slow to follow him. When he did, he heard a shout, cut off by the sound of somthing heavy shattering. Unknown to him, there was a sudden precence of magic that powerful wizards had and could detect. It was strong enough to be felt by those inside the building. The soldier followed the alleyway to find the real Hawkins knocked out and a heavy clay vase in pieces around him. The soldier saw a black-cloaked figure running around the corner. The soldier called for backup and soon the rest of the squad was there. A careful search of the area yeilded nothing, other than the fact that his notepad was nowhere to be found. When he would regain conciousness, he would profess to having no memory of the investigation and everyone assumed it was from the blow to the head. Ferrin, who had been posing as Hawkins using illusion magic and hidding his magical precence with a magic artifact, a silver ring set with an onyx stone, quickly ran through town. Well, that was more exciting then I wanted, but I at least lerned what I needed. And maybe put a few obstacles in their way. He put the ring back on and took a long, looping route to confuse and hopefully loose anyone who followed him. As he walked, he mused over the whole incident. I probability could have avoided this whole thing if has handled it with more care. But, if I could do it over again, there is little I would do differently. On that, something here doesn't add up. If Gregory knew where his daughter was, then why did the wife go through all that trouble, if she could have just asked him...more than that, what is with Mithera's odd reaction? I got some answers, but all they did was make more questions... An hour or so later, he arrived in front of the hotel where they were staying.
