Should I turn this into an actual OOC or is there anything else you guys would like to discuss/place in the RP? I think we still need a name for the actual In world reality (Gaia's Labyrinth Online? Kingdoms of the Sky Online? I dunno.) And perhaps some proper names for cities/guilds. So far this is what I have:
As for a story, I figured we could start as new players on the game that's only been around for a week (allowing some players to reach a slightly higher level of playing and difficulty than most, giving rise to some guilds that have already began amassing power, mostly from transferring from other MMOs.) Recently, the game company has announced an in game starting event that will benefit all players. Under the excitement we either log on that day or freshly join the game to experience it only to be told that we were now prisoners in this world and the log out function has been removed. Other than that we know nothing. None of us know each other, we simply would begin our first post from character creation and enter the world where one of us would form this guild (I guess me?) and the others will simply join under a well why not sort of idea. We'll all be extremely low tier, since there are no levels we can't gauge who exactly is the strongest but we should all aim for our moments to shine and be ready to let others have their moment. At the start I guess we would begin trying to learn the game and clear one of the low level bosses and move on from there. Not all the time do we have to be together, at times I wouldn't mind if someone did a small solo quest post when activity between the group of us dips for a day and you feel like RPing. The world itself is a massive planet of undefined size with a thick atmosphere that blocks most light from the surface. Humans (NPCs perhaps they could have a special name or just simply civilians.) have inhabited massive floating pieces of terrain, a mixture of machine and earth coexisting above the clouds giving utopia's a way to hide from the chaotic surface although rumor has it some humans still exist on the planets surface, inside the labyrinth somehow. Massive air balloon ships traverse the sky bringing goods from towns all over and transporting people. There will be something like 4-5 kingdoms, each having their own differences conquering the sky with a few smaller towns/villages operating under their control which can be run by regular players, mostly driven by guilds. Almost every guild upon reaching a certain level of power can acquire a town or two to help increase overall income between members and provide safe housing and a small garrison of NPC units under their command. When a guild reaches a much higher tier of income, they can begin donating to the kingdom and enter the 'court' of the king (made of like 3-4 players/2 npcs) which constantly attempt to outproduce and out do other kingdoms, giving rise to backhand dealings. PVP is constant, most towns have safe areas but the towns themselves aren't safe. NPC guards exist which easily can overwhelm a player who begins PVPing in town but more often than not, players are found assassinated and ambushed in alleys where the guards aren't watching and thus cannot provide protection. Cathedrals, guild halls and castles are the only true non-PVP areas inside a kingdom/city. The labyrinth itself is only accessible through gates which are located on every single floating island, even the smallest ones, where players are teleported to the surface of the planet. To access the teleportation ability, a player must simply stand in the set area and allow themselves to be transported back. Teleport crystals exist but only work from within cities and send players to their last spawn point (Where they last slept. We can have houses but not make a big deal of having to get them, most poor players are forced to sleep in the street or taverns. If our guild gets strong enough to acquire a town we can simply own any house within the town.) We have Rogue, Mage, Ranger, Warrior classes which will evolve as you play. Each class will have access to any imaginable branch of fighting any other has (ie a ranger or warrior class will have just as many summoning-based and healing based magic spells as a mage or rogue but may not be as versatile, effective or even useful. Remember not all skills should be over the top crushing, some might just be silly or become useless the more you play.)
How's this all sound before I start putting it together in OOC fashion and such? Also for the record I was thinking of doing a Dragoon/Lancer/Spearman kinda class. Semi-DPS and off-tank. But I'm also cool with a Mage or a Battle Mage even or some kind of Commander/tank thing.
