I just smasha bunch of words together from different languages for my aliens.  Than make some bullshit syllabic alphabet for the names of the aliens.  It works for fantasy creatures too.

So who wants to meet the Cyrcp?

Or the alien engineer Cyvkyim Vnyyp Kzpp?  Maybe it will teach you the secret of anti-gravity if you can pronounce its name right.

For people I just look up baby names like Aaron apparently does.
