To save some people from a burning building really quickly without too much fuss and have an "unknown red head girl in purple saves children in from apartment fire" so Dick can see Bruce in civilian clothes and not need to dash anywhere and become aware of Starfire's presence. Then they can cross paths in like a bank robbery or something more dangerous? ^_^
