I'm not sure a main villain works for this in the conventional sense. It's not a diametric "good and bad" sort of thing, where we need to split things along lines like that. It's more like a clash of ideals, the way it's been framed. Assigning any one character to "main villain" status feels like it'll pigeonhole characters more.
