The Little Goddess
Snowy hair hid darkened eyes and in the chaos of the scene around her, Kyra lost herself to the whispers of the void. As if she had been plunged into the icy waters of time, the conversations around her faded, the voices of both siblings and counterparts drowned against the silent screams of nothingness. Darkness crept from her like a hungry beast, tearing the flesh of the light around it and for a brief moment, her form became whole before everything faded back to normality and Kyra simply had the appearance of having her eyes closed. "Peace he speaks of? Peace!? Pathetic!" An old voice croaked, accompanied by a chorus of resounding, agreed murmurs. Kyra had become whole, a shadow bound together by the breath of the void. Her form seemed to shift in this realm, as if it always demanded perfection yet could never achieve it; shadows were intrinsically imperfect, after all. She was carelessly dangling from a cold throne, floating freely yet finding its place in the darkened rise of an endless chamber. Was this a memory? Around her, climbing towards the ceiling yet never quite reaching her own height, were eight familiar beings. The humans had employed philosophers to accompany meaning with nothingness and they fell short for the nothingness was very much alive and these creatures were its heralds, the Eight Pillars. Kyra had only employed their usage after she had struck her mother and fled from the Heavens. They kept busy with her Godly duties - apparently, they had found great reason to support her after her rebellious act towards one of the greatest beings in existence.  "For too long you've remained impartial to the goings-on of the others! You let that sister of yours ravage the Universe with her blinding light and forever you have hid at the side, too afraid to show them your true power!" The same voice quivered angrily, the exertion tiring the poor soul out before he returned to his seat. This time, the voices around her were less riled but they were still present - most were still conscious that she could end them with a thought; this was her realm. A growl rose in her throat, ethereal and all-powerful and in a single instant, the entire chamber silenced. When it was clear she had no words, the same creature spoke again but in a gentle tone. "My Lady, I warn you - they have use of you now but when they have their peace, when the gates of the Heavens have been reopened, they will cast you out once more and you will be alone for eternity. There is a void amongst the others; a gaping wound full of anger and hatred. Peace is a gentle lull to them but war will sate their lusts. The Gods are tedious beings but they learn and never again will they repeat this mistake so we must not allow them to learn. Rip the peace from their insignificant hands, ravage the bonds between them, make chaos your ally and you will find your home..." Her gaze slipped down, her deathly cold breath a gentle reminder of her presence. With a single nod, her defiant eyes rose and darkness crept upwards, consuming the scheming faces of her advisors and gifting her back into the room full of Gods. Noise returned and as if she had only blinked, she opened her eyes to find Tet beside her, speaking in hushed tones before he turned to her with a quiet smile. Defiance glittered in her dark eyes and for a moment, she judged his potential, a sly grin dancing in her pupils. Turning away, she shook those betraying thoughts and turned back to him, her eyes returning to a gentle darkness. "I'm not really good with people... Or Gods... Or anything living in general, really." Her shrug was careless, so thoughtlessly Kyra-ish that she almost looked sheepish. "Thanks for all that back there. You know, you're a pretty good meat-shield when it comes to hiding things." Jokes weren't her forte and it was probably terrible to the God of Play but she accompanied it with a laugh nonetheless. Maybe not all the Gods were so bad? Just the majority of them!
