If something was wrong, like a broken nose, which is unlikely at that height, I should know, I've made that fall personally and the doctor I talked to said it wasn't possible, there would have been blood and James could have dealt with it. On top of that, he's just acting like he's Captain Know-It-All which is just absolutely wrong. He doesn't know that Samir didn't check on her, he doesn't know that his way would have worked, and he doesn't know jack about how Phoenix Wing works, and a dozen other things at least. In the long run, he should have just backed off and kept his mouth shut.
