There was no reason for Gabriel to fight. To him, it wouldn't have proved anything. And maybe he just doesn't want to have anything to do with some guy who punches someone when they aren't expecting it. Simple as that. And maybe he's just tired of being told he doesn't understand anything, maybe he just wants to be alone. Fighting right now would have only made things worse for Gabriel so it isn't going to happen. But he isn't a coward. And it doesn't mean that he isn't willing to step up and prove he is right. It's just not the right time
