September 5th, 2015: 4:22 AM
Max was already up and standing by the side of his bed. His face showed the remnants of the pain his ears had recently undergone. 'What the fuck was that?' he asked, his voice riddled with terror. He quickly walks out the room, almost barging past Allan. In the corridor he sees Linus and, seeing how worried he looks, says, 'Don't worry.' It was the best he could do while his mind strained for an answer. His ears were still ringing and he felt as if he couldn't think straight. Thoughts of his nightmares started to creep up on him. Max stepped out of the corridor and into the living-room. Searching for what the source of the noise was he was crippled by denial when he found the answer. At first he couldn't believe what he was seeing - the possibility that he was dreaming crossed his mind, but the roar that left his ears ringing confirmed he was still awake. The hope that what he was seeing wasn't real loomed but its integrity was wearing thin. Like a bullet, realization set in and panic swept over his entire body. His vision blurred and his mind's eye flashed with thoughts of death; the nothingness that he had so recently feared. An a daze he called out. 'Guys!' And again, that his voice more truthfully representing his panic-ridden state 'Guys! Come here quick!' Before him, the small white door loomed over him, desolate of any explanation. He dared not to open it.
