I know, but again, its one of those comical Fuso derp moments. The story behind their attempts a recreating mithral can be summed up as: "Let's throw crap into a pot and see what comes close to this magical mithril stuff."

Unsurprisingly, they failed at making mithril, but they did make their own alloy calling it "Shakudo" or "Tamahagani" which is used in aircraft and their walkers. Of which they claimed was a "perfect replica" of it (spoiler alert: its not but its still good enough for their needs)

I'm actually willing to say, most the stuff they try to copy involves them bumbling around and derping until they find a good mixture of stuff that works and claims that' what they were aiming for the entire time. They're intelligent idiots basically. Give them a toaster and they'll make a computer out of it, just don't ask why half your household electronics are now missing too. :lol
