Brea Moirai
The misting rain was a little annoying but there was nothing she could do about it, she only hoped that the leader would come soon as she didn't want to be out in the open for too long. Just as she thought that her Bix8 suddenly picked up two life signs, she looked up to see a large tired looking man and.... what? She was surprised to see someone from the Brotherhood of Mahrl as they didn't like being around humans. But a part of her suddenly felt at ease, as she knew the those of the Brotherhood were tough son's of a bitches. She knew most would look at the alien with suspicion, but she would probably be looking at him for more guidance than the human. Though that was habit, she was trained and raised by one from the Brotherhood in her young adult life. A bang suddenly rang out and before she knew what was going on she ducked down behind the "wall" she had been leaning on. Her Bix8 told her that the old captain was dead, she cursed under her breath as she grabbed her rifle. She didn't move fast, she took her time making sure her weapon was loaded a and ready to go. "One, two, three." She said lowly before taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. "Four, five, six." She continued before taking another deep breath. "Seven, eight, nine..... Ten" She took in a final deep breath while her rifle up and turned slightly so she could line up her shots. She wasn't going to waste her ammo, so every shot she took was near perfect head shots. She could feel the kick back of the rifle in her shoulder as reach shot left the chamber. She could see her targets head explode and paint everything around it in a sticky liquid. Just then her hands began to shake, she took cover and while she was reloading she began to count and breath again. It was something that Moirai had taught her to do when she felt overwhelmed, or out of control or when she felt like she couldn't be brave. As she went to take aim again one of the husk looking people came around and aimed his plasma pistol at her head. Without missing a beat Brea hit the weapon away just as the man pulled the trigger. Caught off guard the man dropped his pistol, she went to bring up her rifle but the husk moved fast and kicked her in the chest. She fell back, but it felt like it was in slow motion as she could see the man still coming at her with murder plain in his eyes. She had seen that look many times in many people across the known galaxies. "Survive Brea, turn off your mind!" Moirai's rang through her head as she felt her back connect with the ground. She closed her eyes for a moment and when she opened them she was no longer the same person. The man was nearly on top of her when she pulled out a ten inch obsidian Military blade and planned it into the man's chest. She didn't wait to see the life drain from his eyes as she pulled the knife out and got up. She could hear the whizzing of enemy fire pass her head but she payed that no mind. She simply grabbed her rifle and began shooting again, but the bastards were fast and were closer than before, so she switched to her old automatic plasma gun. But even then some got too close and she was forced to use her blade again. She was unthinking and with no emotion, the only things going through her head were the words "Survive, kill, survive, watch left side." She was what Moirai taught her to be when things got tough, as he knew that she was a sensitive being, and that sensitivity needed to be turned off. As she shot someone's face off she felt pain bloom on her left side. She looked down to see that one of the bullets happen to find the weak spot in her armour. She quickly found the bastard that shot her and killed him before taking cover. She placed her hand over the wound and bit her lip as the pain brought her back to her thinking self. "Shit, this is going to ruin my day." She said as she tried to keep fighting, but the pain made her slow. She hoped that she wouldn't bleed out, not now, not when there was so much for her to do.
