After Carnelian had left, Candice's attention was drawn back to the snowball when she felt that it was melting rapidly all of a sudden. She gasped as Mars' gem floated in the air, shining a bright light, and his human form reappeared. She immediately noticed how his appearance was much more reserved than it had initially been. After he had floated down and landed on the ground, she took a slow step towards him and she asked "Mars? ...Are you alright?" She wanted to know what had happened in the Kindergarten, but she noticed that the sun was setting and it was quickly getting dark. 

She sighed silently when it seemed as though he wasn't going to answer. She suggested to Mars, not taking another step towards him (so as not to seem threatening), "Mars, do you want to head back to town?" She hoped that he would answer, say something, anything! Seeing him just zoned out and reserved like this was painful for her to see.
