Max relaxed slightly, if not somewhat visibly, as Cass accepted his offer with a wink. She certainly didn't seem shy and her language was courser than most around the school, but it wasn't worse than what Max had heard, or even used, elsewhere. He chuckled softly at her comment about detention and a clear record. It almost seemed like she was reading him and had already come to some sort of conclusion about the kind of person he was. He supposed he couldn't really blamee her, it wasn't as if she had much to go on. "I'm not particularly fussed about my record, I just have places that I'd much rather be than stuck in a room where even the teacher doesn't want to be there for an hour. The way I see it, one less detention means one more hour I can spend doing what I actually want to do." He smiled slightly as he watched Cass eat. She seemed to enjoy the Au Gratin almost as much as he did. "Well, I'm glad you like it." He said, grinning. Max thought to himself for a moment, considering how much he could trust this girl that he'd just met. Her status as an orphan barely glazed over his mind only to be brushed away by a mental hand. Max saw no reason why he couldn't trust her enough to tell her about the leftovers, it wasn't like he was breaking school rules anyway! "Keep it quiet, but I usually ask the kitchen staff to cook up an extra meal now and then and then buy the leftovers. It stops the school from throwing them out and wasting it all and it also gives the staff something else to eat on their lunch breaks." Max confessed, scratching his head, feeling a little awkward. This wasn't exactly something he told the other students. "If you like, I could see about having them send over an extra batch to the orphanage now and then, since you seem to like it so much." Max grimaced slightly as he thought back to Conrad and his reaction to Max's charity. "Just don't tell your friend it's from me." He said, somewhat sourly.
