Kail and Maruki Kailani smiled at the blue haired woman's question. She figured that someone would ask that question eventually. She turned to look at Maruki, who was staring off at the distance, towards the temple. "Mind explaining what happens when they transform?" She asked, giving him a look as if to say, "Pay attention, ya doof." "Hmn? Oh... Certainly!" He began excitedly and turned to look at the group with what looked like a wide grin. "You'll transform into a merperson. Some powers will remain while others will be cancelled out by my own magic. Say, for instances, you have the ability to cast fire. Underwater, that will not work. All of you, however, will gain some powers native to the merpeople due to the transformation. It may take a tick to get used to but you'll be able to will water to make strong barriers as well as manipulate water into working for you. Kail and I can help you all with these powers should you wish to use them. I recommend we spend the first day testing our powers and getting used to them before we embark to the temple as much as I'd hate to wait." He explained, long winded as ever. Kail shook her head as he spoke, chuckling at his speech and then smiled and nodded at those on the ship. "It'll be a leap of faith, but I promise Maruki and I will do whatever we have to do to keep you safe. I'm rather adept at Healing and Restorative magics as well as barriers. Maruki is... well... a sea deity so you'll never know everything that he's capable of." She explained.
She'd seen Jonathan there and figured Artav was in good hands anyway, no matter which side she decided to go to. If she was friends with Jonathan, he'd take care of her. At least... she hoped. Now, she found herself sitting in the chair of an important person's office, twiddling her thumbs. She would use magic, but she'd long since learned that humans and magic didn't get along. Yes, she found herself in the mundane world with the ordinaries, as she called them. She was waiting, rather patiently, on a man who had many a connection as she was trying to make things easier for the Europe group to do their business. She was sure Data had already had things arranged, but Maria had plans of her own. "Ms. Cross?" She turned at the sound of a man's voice, a pleasant smile on her face. "That would be me." she responded cheerfully. He quietly closed the door and pressed a small button under the light switch that closed all of the blinds. He then went around and walked around the room, she assumed for making sure no one was in the room with them. "You're getting paranoid." She spoke, breaking the silence. "Well, when everyone and their mother is looking for you, you tend to be. What brings you here, Maria and how did you find me?" He responded, finally turning to look at her. "I have my ways. I came to talk to you about protection for some of my students. They know better than to use magic outside of Lavanya, but I'd like you to protect them for me. Just in case, you understand." She began. "You did it for me more times than I can count." She added, a smirk growing on her face. "I can... But what are you trying to do with them? What are they doing here?" he asked, sitting down at his desk. "There's something we need and it's only available here." "What something?" "Something." "Maria Ann-" "Alright! Fine! It's a weapon. Marcus is getting out of hand and we're preparing to strike back. We have a long way to go." As she said this, the man leaned back in his chair and sighed. He raised a hand to the bridge of his nose and began to rub it, jostling the glasses that rested there. "Maria, you understand this means war, correct? You also understand that this means the death of your brother, correct? One of you will die in this war." "Yes." She replied, her voice cracking.
