Eh, it's just the first thing that popped to my mind. I'll admit I hate it whenever someone immediately assumes an "Edgy" or "Dark" interpretation or example as the be-all-end-all to genres and such. Sure I may not be interested in other magical girl series, but that's because it doesn't suit my taste, not because they're objectively worse. I too like PMMM, for both it's dark and lighter moments, but I'm torn between having Chikage either be excited at the idea of being a magical girl (Or more akin to a Power Ranger), or hesitant that she's getting herself into something much more dangerous than she idealistic imagination would tell her. She's fairly genre savvy and has seen PMMM, and has inner cynic would tell her to be careful and don't play around. But her ideals and dreams would tell her that for better or for worse, she should enjoy this gift and use it liberally.
