[@Cuccoruler] Anyone within a certain radius in front of the caster can be affected by force lightning, grounded or not. Though I'm not exactly sure what the Maximum range is for Force Lightning, but Galen was able to use it on a giant Sarlaac in the first TFU game, and it was able to shock it pretty badly despite its large size.
