The man first asked for a cigarette, then started explaining why he was there. Some company just wanted some of her blood, and to observe her. The problem with that was, that it all sounded too good to be true. It was like a ticket out of this hell hole and into a decently comfortable life was just handed to her for free. She growled softly as she thought about what might be behind this offer. Back to the first topic though, the man looked nervous as hell. He was even shaking a little. Clear signs of withdrawal. So either he was trying to quit, or he couldn't buy any cigarettes at the moment. She didn't really want to part with hers, as they weren't exactly cheap or easy to get for her. But it was hard to hold a conversation with him this way, and she knew the feeling of not being able to smoke while someone else was smoking all too well. She reached into her back pocket and took out the pack. Then with her left thumb she even lit it for him before holding it through one of the small holes in the bulletproof glass. "This is the only one you're getting." She spoke, waiting for him to take it before continuing. "Now, back to the issue at hand. I have no reason to trust you or this company you're speaking of. So you better come up with something to make me at least trust you if you want to stay alive." The deal did sound very appealing. And if at least the man himself could make her trust him enough that she didn't think he would want to put a bullet between her eyes, she would be willing to listen further under less...stressful circumstances. There was no way she'd trust this supposed company he was working for. But that might at least be worth checking out, considering the potential rewards...and potential free all you can eat buffet.
