That's essentially what a spirit is. Short term special ability that boosts your mech's combat potential. What exactly were you wanting to do?

There will be dark moments, certainly, especially during episode 2, (which I already have somewhat plotted) but there won't be the dark, insane fear that dominates in Attack on Titan most likely.
