Drew wasn't quick enough to stop the slash, but he would at least make sure it wouldn't cause too much trouble. He lifted a hand to start altering the spear, having it go from solid ice to tightly packed snow, just enough to still remain solid so the mage wouldn't quite realize what went wrong right away. He then turned away at the master's signal. "Nice." he muttered, turning back to face them. He made the motion mimicking catching something and the partially-melted spearhead was caught, turning back to ice "Yoink!" he said, getting into the moment after Alexander's move. He chucked the solid chunk of ice at the fire mage, hoping to catch him between the eyes, though he'd settle for the face in general to keep him from lashing about randomly. Give him a fly to try and swat. As soon as it left his command, he started trying to do to the ice mage's suit what he did to her spear. He figured it was best to reduce the number of threats while they had the element of surprise, and this gave them an easier target. With the ice mage taken care of, he could work without worrying about someone else interfering like he did just now. He looked to Joey, Nataly, Vana and Ling, hoping they had something up their sleeves now that the chance had presented itself.
