At worse it's invisible. And even then it's not as strong as you think: it might be surprising at first, but Ebon can't make a telekinetic blast. If he can't control the object immediately it slips out of his grasp. Think of it like someone who tries to grabs you but fails; that's what it feels like when he tries to his telekinesis on someone who can still fight back.
