Personality:
A complete and utter sociopath, Mathew Stine is interested only in the exploration and application of science. He's a mad scientist in the truest sense, leading his creations to war and back simply to see how many heads they can explode. He will ruin nations, end empires and murder thousands just to prove that he can, and he'll do it all with his 'toys'. Nothing can stop him when something manages to catch his interest, and he's easily interested. Mathew doesn't consider other beings worth considering. They're intellectual ants, mere pawns for him to move around. He usually disdains entering the fray personally, but rather manipulates the scenes from behind. he considers everything and everyone an asset to be used for his personal gain.
Abilities:
Incredible intelligence and a vast plethora of knowledge. Mathew is a prodigy, and he's studied every field from AI to genetic engineering and theoretical physics. He can master almost any skill he sets his mind to in a matter of days, and some in a matter of hours. There's almost no field of knowledge he doesn't excel at, and almost nothing can escape his observation.

Master tactician, master engineer, master physicist mathematician biologist and chemist. Doctor and professor rolled into one. Also quite adept at fencing.

Background:
Mathew finished high school at age 10. His parents had always known he was a special child, and he moved through school with ease. He was accepted into special education, allowed to advance based on his achievements and understanding rather than the standard progression. At age 12 he managed to gain a PHD in mathematics, only to gain several more later. From this point on his life of adventurous learning began, as he experimented on everything and everyone in sight.

His mother died in a mysterious car crash due to an inexplicable car malfunction, clearly completely unrelated to her son. His father lasted quite some time longer, trapped in the house like a test rat. In a state of rapidly decreasing health his father dwindled, a daily test subject for his son's insane experiments, until he was tortured to death. Mathew was orphaned at age 15, after which he proceeded to win several prizes, and to pretty much found all knowledge on vampires. He is known throughout the world as one of the greatest researchers alive, and he carefully maintains this image. He's known by the media as their most elusive prey, and a variety of journalists have died of technical malfunctions after investigating him.

Mathew is an evil piece of crap, and yet he's the brightest in his field. He's good at what he does, and what he does is learn, experiment, to explore. And he's the world's leading expert on vampirism.
