Unlikely, Khan was understandably unlikely to accept being badly damaged by walking into the circle, which would be the only outcome I'd accept in an argument considering the situation. So that left a ruling as the only reasonable answer. 

There really is no moving on after this point. My character cannot win this battle, except for in the insanely unlikely scenario that he caught Khazna in a circle, which has happened. If the circle does not limit Khazna in some fashion, Metz will die, there is no middle ground or compromise to find here.
