What Wiz said is true ,but I will still try to explain it the way "A wrinkle in Time" explained it:

Imagine the first dimension ,a line ,you square the line ,you get a square ,the second D.Square the square,you get a cube ,the third dimension .Square the cube ,You get a tesseract ,the 4th dimension(time) ,square the Tesseract ,you get a pentaract ,the fifth D(The realm of possibility/alternate outcomes).

Now ,to explain how he teleports using that ,imagine you have an ant on a string ,it would take long for it to get from one end to another ,now imagine you bring both ends together,the ant would be across in nearly no time and without wasting energy.
