Eric never looked away while Loki stood by his side. He just stared into space while the knife continued to twirl in his hand. Hearing Loki, Eric gave a sigh as the knife in his hand stopped twirling. "It seems that way", he agreed as he looked down at nothing in particular. Just the water. "We'll get through", he said before putting the knife back in its rightful place. It felt awkward at the moment to Eric, but he felt that he was shutting his lover out. He didn't want to, he just needed space to think about how to approach him. Unlike last time. What was he supposed to do? He didn't want to hurt Loki if it went down the wrong way. Taking a deep breath, he looked at him in the corner of his eye, then looked back at the water. "I'm sorry", he finally said after the moment of silence. "I should have said something to you. I just...didn't want you to be the second person I have to lose in my life. Ever since my wife, I...", he stopped. "And ever since you...died, I couldn't do it", he confessed.
