Would blink shadowfire make slighly more sense? I'm trying to use more alternate word choices these days.

I figured it'd be a sort-of fire magic that involves a lot of moving the caster (or his target) around while making a general fiery mess of the battlefield. Just with dark purple fire.

Purple fire is cool.
