[@Sombrero] Awwh, no regrets haha! I definitely understand where you are coming from! Magic would be super cool in a school setting. My only hesitation is that last time I did an RP like this, allowing magic ended in everybody having pointless fights with no backstory or plot, because they all became super focused on the powers, and that is more of an arena-style RP. ^^" Which is why I'd rather introduce magic or powers after the plots are set in place, y'know? It makes the abilities more meaningful. :) Applications are always open, so feel free to lurk as much as you want and jump in if you're ever interested!
That's why magic and such is best taught in a sort of specific apprenticeship program. A school for wizards/mages is too open ended. You have to have multiple classes (as in Infiltration 101, Illusions, etc.) for different classes (as in Warrior, Bard, etc.) in the same setting, so that people have to learn the basics of many different things and have to spend a long time earning their abilities as opposed to playing around with the things they can do with them because they already know their stuff early on. The Karate Kid started out with days' worth of household chores for a reason! Then again, the more aspects of an adventuring life you teach, the more likely you're stepping into "Too much fantasy/story direction too fast!" territory.
