Generally in America, a university is just a more prestigious college. Of course, everything induces ridiculous debts unless you have your parents backing you, scholarships, grants, regents, or a mixture of everything just mentioned. To vent, education only receives 3.59% of the taxpayer money whereas national defense (military) receives approximately 32%.
