Galloway Amuné and Wyth waited outside the stable and a decent distance away, so as not to scare the horses. She stroked the moorcat's head as she waited, watching Cecil quietly. She thought about what he'd said about himself, about how people wanted to decomission him, and how he didn't even have parents, not the way she did. Finally she spoke. "Why would anyone want to turn you off?" the child asked quietly. "I mean, it's okay to turn a normal machine off, but you're not like them. You're more like a person, and so it'd be like killing you." Amuné paused. "Your mommy or daddy -- I mean, whoever made you -- they shouldn't let that happen. They should have taken better care of you. You shouldn't need to be on your own...." She trailed off. Maybe it wasn't Cecil's creator's fault. Maybe something had happened beyond that person's control, like had happened to /her/ parents. "I really hope we can find what you're looking for, Cecil. I hope all of us can." She nibbled at her lip. "I think Ethan's looking for something too, but he hasn't said what. Do you think I should ask him? We could help him look if we knew what it was." Amuné fell silent again, before sighing softly. "At least Nymira is with us. Ethan is very kind, but he doesn't seem to get that there are bad people. He always wants to see the best. Nymira may be more bossy, but I think she also may be more sensible."
