The key thing with conduits is that there hands are basically the source of their abilities so take away a conduit's use of hands, you cut them off from using their abilities since the hands help manipulate their element as well as help in recharging them. There will be a few rare exceptions but remember hands being bound no matter what will be a hindrance be it just a normal person or a conduit.
