Cody reeled back as the shield smacked into the side of his head, blinking a couple of times as to regain his vision which had gone a little blurry from the shield's impact. He nodded as he took in James advice once more before reading himself.
He managed to parry the first slash, block and push away the second slash but couldn't react quick enough to block the shield, allowing it to slam into his face and make him stagger backwards. He managed to lock blades with James for the follow up slash, grimacing in effort slightly as James physical strength was far superior to his own so instead of pushing James away he pushed himself away by jumping backwards.
His sword trembled slightly as his hands started to ache because he wasn't quite used to wielding a sword, before tightening his grip once more. He probably could've used his magic to at dodge a few of his attacks, but that would defeat the purpose of the sparring. So far he had done most of the defending as he had been watching James form and technique, Cody had learnt many a thing by watching a person's stance and the way they held themselves.
He could tell that James very much an expert with the sword, his stance just oozed experience and composure and there weren't many, if any, weak points in his defense. 
[i]"Concentrate on the form in your hands rather than your opponents"[/i] Cody thought as he remembered the lines for the Absolute Shield spell.
That's right, there wasn't much difference between a sword and shield as James had said. Both could be used for similar purposes.
Cody took a deep breath as he edged forward slowly, not taking his eyes off the knight before suddenly appearing in front of James as he brought his sword upwards in a slash with the intent to cut him in half. He followed that up by bringing the blade back down in a fierce arc.

Angela happily accepted the bag and began munching on the jelly beans with a satisfied look on her face before turning to face Anya. 
"[color=f26522]I'm Angela, nice to meetcha![/color]" She beamed a smile that screamed of happiness and innocence at meeting yet another new person!
James glanced over his shoulder at the newcomer but didn't pay much else attention to her and sighed to himself at Angela's attitude.
"[color=1b1464]James.[/color]" He replied with a dismissive wave of his hand. They weren't going to get to watch any of the games if they kept talking to everyone they ran into.
"[color=9e0b0f]I am Arthur, and that is Jessica.[/color]" Arthur said with a nod of his head to the curtsying Jessica.
"[color=1b1464]Can we just hurry already guys? We probably missed the beginning already.[/color]" James urged the others as he and Jessica started walking off, and before Arthur went to join them he grabbed Angela by the back of her shirt and gestured to the other two to follow him.
"[color=9e0b0f]I apologise for James' rudeness, but if you would just please kindly follow me. Come now Angela.[/color]" He told Janna and Anya before swiftly dragging the young girl along with him much to her protest.
"[color=f26522]Stop treating me like a kid dammit![/color]" Angela yelled at the top of her lungs, frantically trying to escape Arthurs grip but he just kept dragging her behind him. Eventually she gave up and cross her arms across her chest while pouting.
