Karth was amused by the human's failing attempts to escape his grasp. "Do you know, human, that even if you were to wiggle out from between my claws, you would have nowhere to go, except to fall to your death anyway." He told her diplomatically. However, he wasn't sure that she was paying attention, since she was screaming so loudly. Silly humans; they couldn't even accept their fates with dignity. Ah well. He flew in lazy circles around the mountain, catching the updrafts in his wings to reach his beautiful cavern where he stored his marvelous treasure-horde. The only way in or out of the cave was a hollow in the rock face where the floor of the cave jutted out to form a ledge. So the only way to reach it was by flying. Karth alighted upon this ledge and folded up his wings as he set the girl down, confident that a frail creature like herself would have no chance of escape. Then he plodded along deeper into the cavern to check on his treasure. For he was a jealous dragon, and he would be angered furiously if even one piece was missing.
