Though it should be noted that Ba'al is actually more lenient on the whole 'worship me' kick, and reallyu just plays it because he has to. His underlings would practically revolt otherwise, and it makes people underestimate himself by playing to the usual cliche about the Goa'uld of being amazingly evil (Sarcophagus life extension technology also gives you megalomania, delusions of grandeur, paranoia, and a whole host of other mental side effects.)
