Since you say this is your first time on a forum like this. You'll probably be more comfortable posting in the free section. Which is quite lax and easy to introduce yourself to. The opposite being the advanced section where people are required to post very lengthy responses and have very intricate and complicated characters they play as.

If you're interested in joining one, open the thread then click the OOC button at the top of the thread. Which stands for Out of Character, that's where you'll learn the rules, the storyline and basically how to join and participate.

Interest check means basically, trying to brainstorm an idea for a roleplay and trying to get other people who are interested in your idea to contribute or say that they would participate in such a roleplay.
