There was a time when it was it's own region allowed to trade and deal with whomever it desired until the reign of the old king, he had come to visit and speak personally with Alexzandria's grandmother, he stayed for several months before leaving a signed treaty in hand securing the Pass's loyalty and fevor to the crown. A group of proud workers, they do their best to honor that treaty.
