Luke raced through the hallways, realizing he was going to be late. As he slammed past someone, he offered a quick apology that was lost as he kept running. The backpack bounced on his back, the poppet in his hand. He didn't want to be late the first day of their meeting, but he had a habit of being tardy. He knew he should've left his room earlier, but trying to decide what to take and what to leave behind took some time. He rounded a corner, nearly running into another body. Spinning to avoid a second collision, he was nearing his objective. Luke slowed his pace, to a light jog before slowing to a walk, as to not appear that he had been running. He entered the room and saw the others. He breathed heavily as he spoke, "Hey guys!" He gave them a small wave and a cheesy grin. He needed to get to know them, more than just recognizing a face. Otherwise, this team, if you could call it that, would fail miserably. "I'm ready!" He stood there awkwardly, not removing the smile from his face. He prayed they wouldn't call him out for being late, or maybe he had made it? He glanced around looking for a clock.
