It all happened so fast. Ruinil rushed towards Evelyn who could barely manage to bring up her guard. Before she was even aware of what happened, Ruinil was already stuck with her blade. The young Wardeness was in shock, her hands went weak on its grip of the sword as Ruinil tore it from her chest. Evelyn had been trained against people but not whatever Ruibil was. Evelyn stared into the eyes of the demon and for a moment she felt an overwhelming feeling of fear, anger, uncertainty, frustration, and sadness. These feelings came from something more than this half-ling's smile. Memories, or at least fragments of such, returned to Evelyn's mind. The heat of the fires upon the walls of Starguard, the pain from her exhaustion of her magicka reserves, and her sadness from hearing the unified screams of her undead brethren. Evelyn felt it all once more and she fell to her knees as a result. She was herself again, her mind no longer muddled by the constructor of this illusion, Evelyn rose back to her feet no longer as a child but as regular self. She stood in silence with a look of deep sorrow on her face, not so much for reliving those memories but for realizing this dream was nothing more than just that. "We must escape this place at once. If I suspect correctly, there is an even greater danger in the waking world", she said to Ruinil before looking around the training yard once more. A moment later a door materialized in the middle of the yard, it was tall and dark grey with a black doorknob. "Hopefully the other's faired just as well as us", she said before opening the door and releasing the powerful rays of light behind it. Stepping inside, Evelyn was engulfed in the blinding light and taken to wherever this portal lead. With hope, it would release her from her sleep and slay this foul creature.
