Star Wars: The Circle Of Space
"War has ravaged the galaxy for as long as anyone can remember. Empires have risen and fallen, only for the cycle to continue. Never changing, neverending, it is a repeating story told over and over again from one tongue to the other. The galaxy is said to have been formed thirteen billion years before the battle of Yavin, an endless story stretching countless years into what we today call history. The rise of the Jedi, the creation of the Sith and the Mandalorians entrance into creation were all turning points recorded on the scrolls of the past. Perhaps the most known, or rather the most recorded part of history is The Old Republic. Alongside this behemoth we would see the Clone Wars thousands of years later. The great archives of the Jedi and Sith alike, not to mention the infinite amount of libraries on every planet stretching out across the galaxy would all speak of such events. Great bloodlines like that of the Skywalkers and Solo left their mark on the galaxy's timeline, lead to such an incredible end by powerful actors such as the mighty Yoda, the maleficent Darth Sidious and the ever vigilant Obi Wan Kenobi. A struggle between light and darkness has shaped the galaxy into what we see today, citizens roaming the endless plain of existence never caring to know of the great fissures of the past. Five hundred years ago, the last of these great timelines came to an end, something known as the Legacy Era. It would be a lie to say that we have learned from the mistakes of the past, that war no longer ravages the lives circling the heart of our galaxy. The great Empire has been crushed beneath the weight of righteous fury combined by allied rebels throughout known space, helped by the Jedi who once more would be forced to pick up their blades in an act of war, something that hadn't happened since the Clone Wars. The new Jedi Order created by Luke Skywalker would yet again dwindle, but not because of an order like that of the massacre which had once taken place during the clone wars, the command known as Order 66. Sith and Jedi clashed swords in epic duels which shook the very foundation of creation, leaving only remnants of what they once were in the aftermath. The mighty Empire was facing an enemy now standing toe to toe in both power and size, much akin to what had a happened before against the separatists. As is the fate of many saviours, the rebels would attempt to recreate the galaxy in their image, a perfect reality where none would need to fear tyranny or abused power. Ironic then how heroes would don the robes of villains once power fell in their grasp. Jaden Skywalker, the last descendant of the Skywalker bloodline struck the final blow against the empire and in turn laid the foundation for her own. Passion lead to fanaticism, serenity was taken over by forced order and perfection was the new standards of which needed to be upheld. Jaden would proceed to create a new Jedi order she named The Circle. No one quite knows what The Circle is, but they rule everything. She has no interest in creating more Jedi but rather opposes them just like she opposes the Sith. Seeing the Jedi as too weak and the Sith as too psychotic, Jaden has ruled it highly treasonous to identify as either and doing so would lead to either conformation or death. The Galaxy knows peace...or so everyone is told to believe. Many feel like the Empire was never truly slain, that this is just a shinier, prettier and polished tyrannical power which has risen to control. These beliefs would of course be confirmed by The Circle's iron grip. Their armies stretch far and wide and the galaxy is under their complete control. However, under the radar several lifeforms roam about, and there is talk about a new Rebel Alliance, a new group whom will once more proceed the endless circle of life..."
Hello, everyone. Given the fact that the Star Wars universe is huge, I wanted to make our own little corner at the end of the timeline where we could write our own stories. The Empire has fallen but been replaced by a new group which has grown corrupt due to the influence of power. Society runs much like we are used to in the Star Wars universe, though is heavily gripped by The Circle's fanatical big brother complex. Most planets are under Circle control and answer to them. Jaden Skywalker is a very powerful force user who stands as the new emperor, and rules from her seat of power. The Jedi and Sith are both nearly extinct from the last war that took place, with the remnants of both parties being hunted down by the Circle. Force sensitives are either forced to join the Circle as elite warriors or killed if they resist. So if you play a force sensitive, your character should probably not wave it around. This RP is heavily character driven and we can either develop the new Rebel Alliance, or pursue our own goals until we eventually find out what our character truly desire. Perhaps you even want to join The Circle? From my point of view, I highly encourage character driven plots, but it's best to keep everyone on the same side at the very least, as to not alienate people and make them lose interest.

Rules: All of the forum rules apply and I expect you all to know how to be decent people, so I won't write down every single rule on how to act like one. 1: I am putting this one first because I don't want anyone to miss it. Before posting your character in the character section, post it in the OOC section and await approval. When you do post them in the character section, do so in hiders. 2: I do not want to see characters that are best at everything. I also don't want to see completely flat pieces of armour walking around with a blaster rifle. I want everyone to have some personality, aspirations and dreams. If you want to play a hardened warrior, cool, I love playing those characters too, but it's okay to have feelings, too. 3: If you are going to play a force user, I want you to play a rather low level force user. Everyone can have up to two force powers, if you can use the force that is, and they cannot be vastly overpowered. 4: It is okay to play either a Sith or a Jedi. The two groups are not as hostile towards each other as they used to be, but their ideologies are still vastly different so disagreements will be expected (and encouraged). 5: I am all for IC drama. It leads to character development and that's the most interesting part of an RP. In character drama is amazing and this includes clashes of ideologies, love quarrels or even small things like which way to take. Remember, we're all different individuals and it's important to act like your character actually would, which leads me to rule number six. 6: I don't want to see character breaking decisions unless they'd make sense in some way, shape or form. You've put love and effort into your character during creation, don't let go of that. 7: I am okay with making new characters and scrapping old ones if you don't feel like the two of you are clicking or if you really, really want to try something else out. This is supposed to be a long term RP and I want everyone to be comfortable with their character. 8: I love discussions. I am often wrong, and often require discussion to actually make a good point, but if I tell you to change something in your character sheet, you do it. If you can convince me otherwise, that's another story. If not however, don't be difficult. 9: I highly encourage romance and rivalry, friendship and jealousy. We want this group to come to life, after all. However, do not go overboard. In other words this means that what happens IC stays IC. 10: If the RP is at a standstill, if this goes on for a few days, I will progress the story. 11: With all the 'normal' rules expected from each of us, the rules that I have come up with end here. However, more rules can come to be and if so, I will inform you. Eyes: Brown, feline. Distinguishing Marks: A tail. General Appearance: Standing at the short height of five feet, Sky gives off anything but an intimidating presence. His coat of black fur covering every inch of his body does little in terms of hiding the scrawny nature of his frame. There doesn't appear to be any visible scars donning the feline's body hinting at either a lack of experience or a knack of getting out of trouble before shit hits the fan. There is little to show off in an impressive manner, save for maybe a set of large brown eyes that curiously peer at everything in their surrounding as if to take note of every detail. Small claws are at the end of each finger, though nothing Sky would use as weapons due to his lack of physical capabilities. Just like the rest of his colour scheme, his claws are of an obsidian black colour. On the lower part of his back one can clearly see a long, slender tail slowly wagging from one end to the other, as if it has a life of its own. Though flexible, Sky cannot use this tail for anything of note. When it comes to his choice of clothing, he'd prefer something simple and comfortable. A white leather jacket rests on top of a black tank top covering Sky's chest. A pair of white, fingerless leather gloves would don both hands for better grip around the trusty light pistol holstered under his left arm, beneath his jacket. As is common among travelers of the endless space, Sky wears long leather boots both durable and comfortable. Finally, Sky would wear a pair of simple black pants which are tucked into his black boots. Needless to say, he's not very creative when it comes to what colour he wears, though black tends to be efficient. Strengths: + Quick Draw Sky is quite fast with a blaster, having practiced in the art of always being armed in the dangerous, dark parts of space...like a cantina. + Marksman Whether he is using a pistol or a rifle, Sky displays excellent aim and gunplay. + Agile Due to both his feline heritage and life on the fringes of space, Sky has developed quite impressive agility. Weaknesses: - Fragile There isn't much bulk to his feline being. He is in fact quite scrawny, perhaps an indication of a starved past. - Weak Possessing the scrawny frame he dons, Sky attempts to avoid melee combat by any means necessary. He can't hope to throw punch and even less so throwing an effective punch which would damage his opponent. In short, Sky is useless in a brawl. - Small While it has its advantages to be small, such as adding to one's stealth or fitting through smaller spaces, it also comes with drawbacks you'd expect. A lack of weight removes any possibility of standing against shockwaves or heavy winds and he is easily picked up and subdued if caught. - Force Powers While Sky is force sensitive, the force flows through him in a rather different manner. He isn't capapble of conjuring the force in any external manner, but rather has his body enchanced by its touch. Due to this, Sky is not and will never be able to summon the external power of the force in any offensive or defensive way. Social and Mental Allies: Viggo Lat - A rodian sleeze always hanging out in cantinas and provides dirt on people for the right price. He also cheats at pazaak. Lin - A human woman who owns a general store in Nar Shaada. A polite woman but has a tendency of selling things on the black market. Enemies: Jeg Geero - An ex soldier zabrak turned bounty hunter who Sky beat to the prize once. He tends to hold grudges and is said to not even remember why. Kyle Vale - Sky's ex lover. They had a rather rocky relationship, but their friendship was something that eventually developed into romantic involvement. Both of them being tinnell helped on that front, given how rare the species is. Though, once a truckload of credits came his way, Kyle was more than willing to sacrifice his boyfriend for it. A scam from the very start, Sky never forgave Kyle for having used him towards such a shallow end. Current Goal/Purpose: Currently, Sky only wishes to continue his work. His goal is his next contract. Aspirations: Sky wishes he could have access to a ship and better equipment. As it is, he's scraping to get by. Hopefully he'll eventually get enough credits to manage the big fry. Hobbies: Listening to music, playing card games, chilling out, marksmanship. Likes: Guns, droids, the night sky, leather jackets, freedom, flowers, cuddly animals. Dislikes: Brutes, rude behaviour, fanaticism, The Circle, vegetables, swords. Fears: Captivity, spiders, loss of control, being subdued, close quarters combat. Personality: Quiet and mellow, Sky often prefers to listen rather than talk, something that would quickly jump to his force senses. Throughout his life he has learned that a big mouth can get you in trouble and thus only speaks when he finds it absolutely necessary to do so. He is well aware of his limitations and without a gun, he would be completely defenceless. Due to this, he tries his best not to aggravate the wrong people, which at times gets difficult due to his occupation of being a bounty hunter. The constantly serious expression on his face could in fact be considered 'cute' due to his innocent appearance, though Sky is incredibly professional and tries to act like such as often as he can. One shouldn't be fooled, however. While cautious, maybe to a fault, the young man is very friendly towards those he does not consider enemies. A polite personality will get you very far and will avoid unnecessary conflict where there is need for none. Towards his friends Sky expresses a sense of loyalty akin to that of comrades. Throughout his life he has learned to look after himself only and that has left some scars so to speak. He genuinely cares for his friends, and maybe one day someone will swing by who will truly unlock his heart, but as it is right now, his friendship towards others is on a solely professional level. They are all there to back each other up, but everyone's actually looking after themselves. While this might be true or not, in Sky's head, everyone's always looking after themselves before anyone else. Due to this, Sky enjoys the company of droids quite a lot. They are almost always trustworthy, mostly because they were programmed to be. To sum it up, Sky is a friendly but serious being who is curious to know if there is such a thing as a 'true friend' or if his reality is in fact the only one. Equipment Special Items: A shoulder bag where he keeps: - A flashlight. - A few credits. - A datapad. Weapons: A light blaster pistol. Supernatural Force Sensitive: Yes Force Powers: Force Senses Sky's hearing and sight in particular are increased by a passive touch of the force. Force Reflexes Sky's quick and deft hands aren't all skill, it would appear. Due to the force running through his veins, Sky is able to perform impressive reflexive feats in the face of danger, such as drawing his gun incredibly fast or shooting several targets accurately in a flowing motion. Background History: It isn't very common for a mercenary, bounty hunter or freelancing scoundrel to have come from a stable background. Usually what you'd think of is a gutter somewhere on Naar Shaada where every scrap of food is something you would fight for and your very survival hinges on deft hands. If you threw Sky into this bunch, you'd be right. It's not a glamorous life or even an uncommon one, neither would it be considered a story worthy of telling in most forums. Having grown up nowhere else than in the filth ridden streets of Naar Shaada, Sky was just one of many urchins scrambling through empty warehouses in search of a warm corner to call home for the next five minutes. Now, cutting it on your own is never smart. It might seem smart at first, never owing anyone anything, just following your own path and never having to share food with anyone else, but in all actuality, it's suicide. It also comes with the need of looking over your shoulder every other second, fighting everyone else for a place to stay during the cold nights and of course, trying to survive on your own. Counting every piece of luck on five fingers, Sky knew that if he intended to get anywhere, preferably -out- of the streets, he would need to claw his way through the filth and into the cold embrace of a gang. It was a start, but a start he needed to get to all the same. Being a quiet kid ever since his first steps, Sky was never one to measure his pride with others. He's always known his limitations and while curious, he often keeps his mouth shut as to not get in more trouble than necessary. It is the quiet ones you need to look out for, however. Someone always uses war as an opportunity to better their own position and this was no different for Sky. He was small, weak, scrawny and worthless, but he was also crafty. With the local gang war raging on, he could either hide from it, or use it to get in with one of the gangs. Actually, it mattered little who it ended up being. Though, picking up a stray pistol once bought and sold on the black market, the now thirteen year old Sky would have to take his first life in an attempt to get his own. On the streets, one would expect everyone to walk around with a gun but that's not the case. They are expensive, even the backwater cheap ones, and grabbing hold of a pistol often makes you the center of attention. The previous owner of the blaster pistol laid dead with his blood leaking into a sewage drain from a wound in his head caused by a metal pipe. Of course, in the chaos the woman who had killed him would soon be put down as well. Amidst the chaotic battle field spanning across the abandoned factory where the two gangs were going to meet up for a final showdown, Sky quickly made his way from cover to cover until that one blaster pistol was close enough to wrap his small fingers around. Ironic how this thing was going to be his ticket to a better life, or a death sentence. Either way, it was going to change everything. He pulled the trigger, once, twice and even five times, ending five gangsters in the process. The shots were accurate, especially for someone who had never used a pistol before. He never expected there to be a parade in appreciation, but getting knocked out soon after joining the fray was never quite part of the plan. He'd wake up some time later, tied to a chair with a flickering lamp softly swinging above his head. "Those were some interesting moves." A female voice graced his ears as he looked up, seeing a zabrak staring back at him. Her muscular body spoke of many battles and even more weights lifted. "Why'd do you do it?" Was there a point in lying? Was there a point in spinning a story? Every gang member had proven themselves before they were allowed to join, now he had as well. "I want to join you..." Five simple words, five accurate shots. It was all that was needed. Sky's quiet voice quickly vanished into the darkness surrounding him but he was met by a wicked smile and a hand on his shoulder. "Looking out for your skin, that's good. Know where you stand, and follow orders...you'll live..." Funny how the initiation wasn't harder than that, though everyone knew that each member of that gang was there for their own safety. No one was there because they felt loyal or had a common goal. Everyone was striving for safety in numbers and thus nothing else than obedience was expected from the feline creature. Years passed, enough to grant the tinnell nineteen years under his belt. Through a combination of skill and hard work, he had indeed grown in rank. However the gang he called safety would eventually dissipate due to an endless amount of gang wars which eventually thinned it out to nothingness. Surviving this fate, Sky took to the survival skills he had learned throughout the years and made his way out of the gutter and into the fringes. He would don the cape of a bounty hunter, taking on small jobs for a pittance but would soon enough get the hang of it. This is where the quiet street kid ended up, a bounty hunter for the highest bidder. Ironic what a stray blaster pistol on the ground could lead to, isn't it?
I want a group of five people with me included. In my experience, a larger group is very hard to navigate. This is the first role play I've created in a very, very long time. I am rather if not very inexperienced and will make mistakes, but I promise everyone that I will do my best to be a good GM.
