I would presume that Claus would still be in the dungeons, but not where he is now. If anything, the guards would move him to the first floor of the dungeons, which would be reserved for more privileged members of society, meaning that those cells would be more accommodating than a typical prisoner's dungeon cell. I would definitely say that he would be the only one in the cell, with his own bed, and when he gets there, a more modest meal than hard bread would be provided, and of course a chamber pot.
