"Yeah, right, like I'd be jealous," she quirked an eyebrow. "No way. You might have your weird teleporty powers, but I like being able to take a beating... And I still think you're being absolutely ridiculous about Benjamin..." She threw her hands up in the air. “I’ll see you after the fight, I guess.” She went into the Heroes’ Arena, climbing the bleachers until she found a seat. The fights hadn’t even started yet. The arena was packed to the max with the young freshman heroes and she reflected on her first time in the arena, as a freshman. I was so new here, so angry… I’m surprised all that rage didn’t kill me. I hated everything. I’m surprised I even was recognized as a hero… she watched some of the heroes down in the arena chatting amongst themselves, some of them friends, others arguing about who would win, and others enemies. Her eye caught on a brunette girl standing off from the rest of the group, a look of pure annoyance and anger across her face. That one, right there, was me. I guess I haven’t really changed that much. I still hate almost everything. But I’m working on it… The match started and her eyes scanned the field lazily, as the heroes turned on each other, brutally fighting. Lydia looked back over at the brunette, who was diving into the fight hand over fist, roundhouse kicking one, and grabbing another, swinging them over her shoulder, slamming them onto the ground with force. If I’m going to graduate… never see my mom again, or my dad… maybe I should at least say goodbye to them. “Hey, thanks for not wanting anything to do with me at all. It really helped shape me as a person.” Lydia thought, sarcastically. Actually, I don’t think I’ll even spare a ‘fuck you’ to my father. Just because he has the genetics for superheroes doesn’t mean he should run around impregnating every woman he sees… fuck him. I am not in the wrong here. The girl in the arena jumped, delivering a spinning kick across the face of a young man, and Lydia saw his teeth fly out. The girl smirked, clapping her hands and dropping another hero with a leg sweep, and Lydia sat up. Impressive. Who is she? She hasn’t used a power yet. Lydia glanced at the screen, her eyes scanning down the list. Sapphire, huh? She was rank 3 before this match… Impressive. Lydia looked back down at the match, continuing to watch.
