The Old World was never a place of peace, wars are nigh on endless and simply never seem to cease. In the dark underworld, Skaven scrape and scratch at the earth, planning the downfall of their foes. Orcs and their diminutive Goblin cousins bide their time, growing their WWAAGHH's to ever greater proportions. Even the foul north-dwelling humans, the worshippers of the Chaos gods themselves, slowly wear away at the northern kingdoms bringing their tainted gods ever further south. You are one such creature. Not a mere lapdog of good, no shining paragon of honour and justice. Lord Gnawsqueak, a Skaven warlord of relatively high repute and infamy, has amassed his forces and his numerous, and varied, allies. His armies plan to wage vile war upon the Empire of Sigmar and the lands of Bretonnia, and if his conquests are successful, then the Skaven blight shall carve out a slice of hotly contested human land and Gnawsqueak himself shall be elevated to the ranks of the vaunted Council of Thirteen, the ruling council over all Skaven...that is...if, he succeeds... You and your group has been hired, forced, and cobbled together for one job, and one job only. The elimination of an Imperial Count of high esteem and prestige. His actions are proving, difficult, for those that forced or bought your blades to this. But their grasp over you is limited at best, and creatures such as yourself were never ones to merely be lapdogs, were you? Template for the characters: Honestly, I leave this up to you. I trust that everyone has their own prefered template layout, and as such they are free to do as such. (Note: Apperance can literally just be an image. I am not someone that is picky on that matter.) Racial selection: As one of the many foul denizens of the Warhammer world, the creatures that you may be a spawn of are rather idfferent than what you may be used to. Instead of grand majestic Elves, you may well be a backstabbing Goblin, or perhaps a dimwitted Orc. (Races will not be explained here. Instead links to the 'Lexicanium' will follow a brief summary of the race) (Also, should you wish to play a subrace, PM me and I shall disscus it with you.) Races-
Humans: The most diverse of all races, humans are varied in apperance and in behaviour. Instead of a set use limit, or a replenishing mana system of sorts, all magical power in the Warhammer world originates from the Realm of Chaos, and seeps into the material world via the highly unpredictable 'Winds of Magic'. Magic in the Warhammer world is also normally assigned into set 'lores' of study and thought, so for example a pyromancer is someone that has devoted themselves into the Magical school of fire and so forth. It is noteworthy however, that magic here is highly unpredictable in general, and miscasting, or worse backfiring, can readily occur with ease given the very nature of the Winds of Magic. Nonetheless, magic is a highly powerful and commanding force on the battlefield. A user of magic, is most commonly referred to as a 'mage' or a 'wizard' in this setting, however racial variations, such as Chaos Sorcerers, High Elven Loremasters, and even Beastman Bray-Shamans all exist. http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Magic Given that normal magic on the table-top version is assigned into rigid spells that leave little to the imagination, I would like to leave spells up to your imaginations. Of course, logic is prime here as a mere apprentice would not be going around immolating whole armies or the like. I would also like to leave the random chances of failure up to you, however I can swiftly provide them should it be wished for.
Notes About The World Itself
The technological level of the general races in the Warhammer universe, is best compared to Early Modern, or early Renaissance in nature. Many factions, especially Dwarves, Skaven, and the Empire of Sigmar, all have ready access to (relatively) stable and cheap firearms that work much in the same manner as normal matchlock, Wheelock, or flintlock muskets. However, all factions still maintain strong cores of melee infantry and the like, and most factions actually have no standard or formal access to these firearms, though certain individuals among them may do...
