I can answer this on behalf of King.

For our characters, they will have to be a more uniform squad of professional soldiers. Think of the operation variety of Ghost Recon with the operator diversity of Rainbow Six. A straight up mercenary might be out of the theme King is going for here, but I'm sure there's some way to work it in. You can be as creative as you want so long as it seems plausible. A sniper from the Navy SEALs? Sure. A demolition dude from GSG-9? Go for it. A SWAT officer from Compton? Naah. 

As for vehicles, I'm sure they will be involved, but you might not be able to drive a tank.
