[@The_written_John] Well when you think about it, Lethonel is quite smart for their age as well. Sariel and Lucinda are both very intellectual people. Lucinda herself comes from a family renowned for hosting some of the brightest minds in the kingdom, herself included.

Given the environment he grew up in and his parental influence, I think it makes perfect sense for Alistair to be as wise as he is for his age.
