Her eyes are her most expressive feature as Katai's face is almost permanently set in a neutral expression, faint impressions of a smile or furrowed brow are great indicators of her mood if one can't catch her eyes. Casual wear isn't much different, exchanging the leggings for loose capris and black sandals more typical to Konoha ninja. Accessories found near constantly on her person include her hitai-ate tied loosely around her neck, a plain brown knapsack, a parasol, a mask and two large storage scrolls on her back. The significance of these things vary from personal attachment or usefulness which she has yet to explain in more detail beyond the parasol being one of the few things reminiscent of her late mother, whom she barely remembers. [color=FF9830][b]Personal Information:[/b][/color] PERSONALITY: [b][i]vindictive - obsessive - observant - logical - loyal[/i][/b] Katai is not as emotionally invested in things most people her age would be, rather ruling with a logic-based mind trying to follow the examples of her then single father and his adult peers. This however, has left her stunted with the norms of social behavior as a child and have often misled others into thinking she is cold or indifferent at first encounter. Such has been improved since entering the Academy with full exposure to her peers over the years in acting more her age, although she remains habitually formal when it comes to speaking or terms of address. One milestone of that Katai's that she never seemed to fully conquer when it came to emotions, was dealing with anger. She has a long memory for those whom she feels slighted her or those she deems as comrades and has shown to be somewhat vindictive in nature. Never expressing her misgivings beyond a look, all the while patiently waiting for an opportune moment to strike retribution--often displayed between the form of an inconsequential nuisance to a nasty surprise (she has been known to use her half-brother's diapers when he was a baby). Despite these acts being borderline petty, she seems more willing to let go of any such grudge afterwards. The same does not always apply to the targets in question, which has the potential to repeat the cycle until one or both parties are reprimanded by a higher authority, of which she'll bury the hatchet and leave it at that if only for her higher sense of duty towards serving the Shinobi Force as a competent and potentially respected ninja like her father. HISTORY: Katai was raised by her shinobi father, Nazo, and civilian mother, Tattoi, for two years before her mother died of a recurrent turned chronic case of pneumonia. Due to her age upon her mother's passing she barely remembers the woman beyond a few fuzzy memories with a red parasol, but occasionally hears stories from her father on what she was like. With Nazo being a shinobi and the only income to support his family of two, it was unavoidable that he had to go on missions--some of which were quite long. That left the man with no choice other than leaving his daughter in the care of her civilian Uncle (mother's side) and wife while he was away and having increasingly grown attached to her father being the only parental figure to her at the time she grew to idolize her father and the ninja way, leaving it hard to connect to her civilian aunt and uncle that attempted to divert her to increasing interest in ninja life to more child-friendly habits. This remained the norm until Katai was around the age of six, when her father was dragged back to the village after a mission gone wrong. His troop was ambushed in their patrol by rogue nin and he nearly lost his leg from mid-thigh down trying to save a fellow jounin from a trap (involving ninja wire and electricity) discovered too late. A medical nin responded quickly, saving him from losing his leg entirely but the Raiton jutsu used cauterized part of his injury leaving him with a permanent limp. During his medical leave is where he met his current fiancee Akemi Kita, a med nin from the same hospital he was being treated in, in addition to being restricted solely to missions inside the village. The close call in the field having pushed him to spend more time with his growing daughter. With her father home more often, Katai persisted in being trained by him in addition to the academy, learning her aspiring specialties from both Nazo and her new mother-figure. By the age of ten, came her newborn half-brother Hiiro and her acclimation into the ninja Academy. Her studies remained average when not dealing with subjects of her intense interest but the stability of a full fledged family in addition to years-long peers have opened her up greatly to social norms she missed as a younger child and only pushed her further towards her goal of being an accomplished ninja. By using this genjutsu, it can mask a taste, change the taste, or even remove the taste completely from anything consumable (or I suppose anything one would put in their mouth). All that's required is for the user to touch something that the target is consuming and the second it touches the taste buds the target is caught. The most known purpose for this jutsu is to mask poisons; of course it does have other properties like bettering the taste of certain food (such as ration bars), which is why this technique was originally developed. Notes: - Required to touch the object in question. - Most efficient masking poisons from food/drink one has previous knowledge of eating/drinking or it can be discovered easily. * Poison Detection Ninjutsu / Medical (D-Rank) Self SEALS: None. Pretty self explanitory and something that Katai uses on a regular basis because of her constant handling in poisons and dangerous chemicals. This uses a small regulation of chakra throughout the whole body, mainly the mouth (originally made to check for poisons as one is eating/drinking), allowing her to detect and negate small amounts of poisons that she may consume or be attacked with in battles. However this works for the self only and can't be used towards other people unless they are actually taught the technique. Notes: - Knowledge of poisons makes this ability more effective. - This can only be used for the user, not anyone else. - The use of this allows the user to detect the poison and help boost the proper anti-bodies to fight the poison off before it spreads. - This may counter poisons in small or moderate amounts but it won't properly counter potent ones. * Water Release: Syrup Capture Field Ninjutsu (D-Rank) Short - Mid Range SEALS: 3. Dragon, Hare, Ram. Close to mid-range jutsu that projects a long lasting sticky, syrupy liquid which can be spit onto a surface to form a very strong adhesive trap or onto a person to inhibit immobility. This jutsu is highly conductive while still in liquid form and when hardened, it is similar to cement except it's amber in color. However, large amounts of oil and water will make the substance slowly dissolve (depending on the force). If you're not caught in it, the stickiness can last up to two minutes before it solidifies and it is safe to walk over and lasts another five minutes before it becomes brittle and the target can get free if not removed from sooner. Notes: - Fire jutsus will only proceed to harden the substance which if one is caught in the technique, it can potentially "cook" the person and/or their captured limbs if not careful. - Lightning jutsus are ill-advised while this substance is still a sticky, gelatinous mess as the technique is highly conductive and will proceed to shock or electrocute anyone trapped in it's substance depending on the strength of the lightning jutsu used. - Water, earth, and wind jutsus are most proficient in countering this technique. Water to wash the substance away for anyone caught in the technique, earth to block one from being hit with the jutsu entirely, and wind to quicken the drying process or cutting one out of the trap if water is not available.
