Jane Putcher – Frenzy Camp
[@Raijinslayer][@oblivion666][@Caits] The sight of Argus high in the air, holding both Isla and Ike however counter-intuitively, spurred Jane on to the realization that it would not be advisable to underestimate the demon again. She whistled, long and low, in acknowledgment of the troublemaker's ability, and backpedaled quickly to avoid Mehrune's Chain. Pulling the lever to reload her Privateer, she leveled the barrel at Argus even before he began to speak, but -in an effort to avoid ignoring her training- kept her fingers off the trigger. When he spoke, she smirked. ”Yeah. Indigo hobbled her fer her evil-doin'. Yer on the wrong side o' this fight, Argus, and if ya don't stand down this instant, I'm allowed to exact punishment 'ere an' now.” A contemptuous grimace settled over her face when Isla foolishly attempted to talk her way out of the bed she'd made. Honestly, Jane had half a mind to let Ike go nuts for a few moments to see how far he got. Her sympathies with him lessened, however, when he turned her rage on her. ”I'm sorry that you've suffered, but I can't let anyone die on me watch. If you can't figure out who's a bucko and who's an enemy, I'm takin' you down too.” With a steady hand she shifted her aim toward Ike, only to retreat another few steps to escape his Ebony Starfall. Though forced out of position, she continued to smile, for such a visible display of magic would serve well as the catalyst for Frenzy Plant doing what it did best. Jane opted to observe cautiously as Argus took action. He intercepted the spear with disturbing ease, but seemed to catch himself shortly after. Meanwhile Gabriel appeared on the scene. Leaning toward him, Jane cautioned, ”This fight won't end in words.” A blur of motion on the edge of her vision caught her attention. ”Here we go.” The stinging thrust attack of Argus came to an abrupt halt as the blur appeared in front of him, resolving itself to be the southern swordsman, Owen. Into the path of the lightning-infused Crimson Nightmare Owen interceded his shield, taking the full force of the attack. A bellow of pain escaped Owen's mouth as the lightning surged through him, his muscles twitching violently. When it ended a moment later, steam rose from his clothes, and he sank to a knee. Meanwhile, everyone else had arrived on the scene. Along with Isla, Argus, Ike, Jane, Gabriel, and now Owen, there stood nearby the northerner Joakim Fortinbras, the glazier Ange Bolganone, the archeress Leixia Wuiwomi, and the beastrider Chester Graham. Jane smiled, changed her current ammo type to Scatter Arrows, and called, ”In t' name o' General Sanders here's one final chance t' stand down! Soldiers, ready aim!” Joakim pointed his ribcage staff forward, a cold star within the cage's heart beating an ominous hymn of winter. Ange held up her wand, and it danced with sparkling light ready to make glass. Leixia, as might be expected, nocked an arrow and prepared to let fly at Argus. Chester, meanwhile, held something that looked suspiciously like a custom blunderbuss. Jane took aim with her Privateer once again, and Owen managed after a heroic struggle to get to his feet. He lurched a few feet away, keeping his eyes forward and rapier up the whole time. Now, around Ike and Argus in a ring were seven Frenzy Plant soldiers. They ignored Isla, who sat outside the perimeter. Someone as standoff-savvy as a former pirate did not, however, wait for the situation to erupt. ”Makers, give them some time t' cool off! Now!” At once, both B-rank soldiers let loose. A wave of ice spewed forth from Joakim's staff, and from Ange's wand came an outpouring of glittering particles. In only a moment, they would stop both miscreants cold in a dual coating of glass and ice. If they jumped, however, Jane's revolver cannon already faced upward, ready to discharge far more lethal Scatter Arrows into any airborne targets.
