"Uggh!" Quincy groaned at Sarge's order, but caught himself, hoping said groan wasn't too loud. The last thing he'd want to do was get on her bad side before the mission even began. That being said, he wasn't a fan of staying on the surface too long. Everyone knew Drake and Rider alike moved exponentially faster when completely underwater. Of course, the two would have the come up for air eventually, but usually such a moment was brief. Staying on the surface meant that the two would be taking on tons of wind, even if Quincy was in his typical rider position. Wind only created drag, and drag only slowed the two down. This subtraction of speed made him feel like they were handicapped. Despite all this, Quincy kept his opinions to himself. He was never one to go against a superior's order, his parents made sure of that (and, again, he really wasn't trying to upset his superior any time soon). He'd be damned if he didn't quietly fume about it most of the way there, though.
Ten hours later, Quincy perked up out of a daydream to notice the island rushing up on the horizon. Looking up, he could make out the faintest image of Sarge addressing the others. He couldn't hear her due to distance and the roar of passing water, but it didn't take a rocket scientist to tell that they were looking to rest on this particular island. "Land ho, Allie. Looks like we're taking our first pit stop." He addressed the Drake, giving her a quick rub between the eyes. Quincy was quick to dismount as Alejandra beached herself. He groaned and stretched and shook his limbs out. Naturally, Allie was visibly exhausted. "Hey, hey," He approached his companion, meeting face to snout. "Never did something like that before, huh?" He grinned and gave a thankful rub. "You did damn good today, girl." She snorted and flicked her tongue at him, appreciative of the complement. "You're exhausted, yeah? C'mon, get on my back. I'll carry you this time." He dropped his bag and turned away from her, in attempts to follow up on his offer. Eager for the piggyback ride, Alejandra was quick to stretch across her rider's back. This backfired immediately, as the weight of a Sea Drake dropped Quincy into the sand with a dull FWUMP! "Oop, no, I lied, you're heavy." He strained from under her. Allie let out a few husky rasps at the antics, something that might've resembled laughing. As he managed to squirm from under her, Quincy hopped back to his feet, showing a toothy grin. "C'mon, let's meet with the others." He began off, casting away his soggy, sandy shirt. At the top of the hill, He was slightly disappointed to see a good chunk of the group had already beat him there, making note of the Black Knight rider, Oberon, already down for a nap beside his dragon. "Definitely would've gotten here first if we were able to go top speed." He boasted mentally as he approached. "So!" He clapped his hands. "Who wants to get started on a fire? Less time I spend in my skivvies, the better." He found a spot in the grass to lounge in. Alejandra did the same, plopping her head into his lap.
