But to address your edit, absolutely! 

[@Frengo] is in charge of the rangers, so they might be better fit to arrange something. However, as I am next to post in that scene, and Kalar had sent Liara to go ahead, it is completely plausible for her to bump into or notice him on her way out. I should be able to get to it soon :)
