Tommy caught his breath for a moment before answering. He looked at Thaddeus, who fit his idea of what a man of action should look like. The sword in particular gave him hope, a weapon like that was not one for someone afraid of getting his hands dirty. It was also very sophisticated and ornamented, unlike his own weapon. As he picked up his gun and reattached the bayonet, Tommy said “Name’s Tommy Brown. I don’t know your real well, but you look like you’d be a better partner than at least half of the sods they chucked into this forest.” The one thing Tommy noticed in the surrounding area was the split tree behind Thaddeus. It would take a lot of force to do something like that. “Hey, was that split tree your doing? Or do some of these buggers go around doing that for fun?” Tommy didn’t know much about Grimm. They’d told him about them in school, but the details had long since faded away. The important part of the combat doctrine back home was to just shoot them all until they died, which could be a while for some of the largest beasts. He heard a few sounds far away, but couldn’t tell whether it was people or more Grimm. Tommy waited to hear what Thaddeus had to say before asking his next question. “So, do you have any plan in mind? Should we just go wherever we hear something, or is there somewhere that we should actually find? You said you know some stuff, so if you’ve got any insight into this, I’d love to hear it.” Whatever Thaddeus' plan was, Tommy would follow it for now, because he didn't have any better ideas. At this point, Tommy only had a vague idea of what a Huntsman’s job really was. He just thought of it like someone who was especially good at fighting, all other skills came second. [@Lord Santa]
