[@Savato][@Absolis][@Flamelord][@SgtEasy][@Tyki] [Arcadia-1, New York] "No, you make foolish mistakes all of your own." Nova sighed. He had no time to deal with an alien superiority complex. Simply keeping the peace with the Eldar had been enough of a hassle, and these Outliners looked like they'd form a similar obstacle. Unfortunately, it seemed he would need to work with these beings for now. "This device is nothing more than a crude attempt at playing God. The waves react uniquely to the brain chemistry of these humans, and unlock their potential as espers. But they do so through brute force. Any power gained from it will be lost in time." He looked over to Ruiko, sensing every living cell in her body at once. "While she appears to be human, her brain is altered from what I would expect. I believe that the Level Upper would be useless for you, or even for me. It's effects apply uniquely to human being from her particular universe, as it is in their brains that the potential to become espers lies." "Your Envisioning One unleashed one of the most dangerous forces in the galaxy at current into this world. What would you have done if this beast had gotten hold of a Terminal? Learned to use it? Would you have hunted it down, searching a billion worlds just to find where it went? And what would you do when it returned, evolved beyond anything you could hope to contain?" Nova glared at the Ethereal, before sighing. "You believe me to be an inferior mind because of my emotions. I believe you to be an inferior mind because you lack them. My plans do not require you or your organization to become enemies. But know that if you move against me, or attempt to force me to 'fade from this world', I will be forced to take action." With that, the God Emperor stepped outside the Kolon hut. Before him was a panorama of chaos, a sea of corpses and blood. It seemed he would need to clean up the Ethereal's mess, before he went about cleaning his own. Of course, that was when Cyano decided to attack. Her actions were pointless, and would benefit neither the Ethereal, himself, nor Conablum labs. He could further sense impurity within the being's mechanical mind, anger and frustration overpowering logic and reason. With a gesture, Escher found itself completely unable to move. "You seem convinced that your machine does not have a mind for me to read. Does your world truly define the mind by something as limiting as the body? It seems there is much you do not know about the world." With a second gesture, Nova forced Escher to it's knees. "I could crush your mind right now, and leave you a driveling mess. I would shatter your reasoning, annihilate your personality, and leave you in a vegetable state. You would not die, but all that had defined you would be gone. Erased. Consider this an act of mercy. Reconsider any act of violence in my presence, child, I do not take kindly to foolishness." With that he left Escher, returning full control to Cyano. Now to deal with the greater threat, the being the Ethereal had so foolishly unleashed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Doomsday fell down the chasm, his footing breaking away from under him. The creature fell down into the darkness, screeching as it fell. The krogan seemed to have taken Apocalypse down with him with his last move, sacrificing himself to take down the greater threat. But such things were not meant to be, and Apocalypse would not so easily be defeated. As the chasm narrowed, Apocalypse slammed his fist into the rocky side. His claw-like portrusions sliced into it, slowing him down as he fell. He then created a cubbyhole with his fist, allowing him to halt his fall entirely. Grinning, Apocalypse caught the falling Krogan. Suicide was the option of the meek, and it would kill this creature personally. There were few who were willing to face it directly, and had had such effect. In the face of both it's courage and it's willpower, perhaps the sin of it's weakness could be temporarily forgiven. With a swing of it's arm it sent the Krogan flying, before it followed the projectile up the shaft and back to the surface world. Varhak emerged first, crashing into the ground outside the chasm. He was mostly undamaged, having never hit the ground from his long fall. In a way Apocalypse had saved him, although he had no intention of letting the Krogan live. Apocalypse shot out of the chasm, having jumped from wall to wall in order to propel himself upwards. Stephen would be greeted with a scathing glare as Apocalypse shot past him, not much caring for his attacks as he was moving too fast for the crystalline warrior to react to. He looked over those gathered here to find his next opponent, the being with the most power among all those present. A robotic girl seemed to have shown up, but he was not interested in fighting a mere android. The military forces still stood, agape at his rampage. But he had taken all the fun he could from them. But a new opponent had emerged, a being clad in light and gold. Apocalypse laughed as he landed, knowing this would be his next great opponent. He could sense it's power, and it was intoxicating. A challenge the creature could not refuse. Apocalypse shot forward, instantly accelerating past the speed of sound. It was moving at nearly mach 2 at this point, almost twice the speed it had possessed when it first came to Arcadia-1. It's fist was extended backwards, readied for a blow that would split the Earth itself. He was filled with anticipation and glee, knowing he faced one of the few real challenges on this world. But all he was met with was a steely gaze and an upraised hand. Or so it had thought, before space seemed to warp around it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apcoalypse emerged, full of wrath and fury. The Emperor merely watched as the creature shot towards him. He raised one hand, and called to him the power of the Warp. He channelled it through his body, the energy of the Realm of Souls. It followed his fingertips, and realized itself, formed by mind and forged by his will. Reality bent and twisted, but it was like dough in his hands. He seemed to perform a brief palm strike at the air, a pushing motion. And even as he did so, Apocalypse simply exploded. Pieces of the creature rained down from above, rain splattering all that had not yet been painted red. So simply did he end Apocalypse's life, with a single rift. With a gesture he called down fire, flames that turned the very air to plasma and the ground to lava. Waves of heat incinerated all unshielded life. Luckily for Ruiko, the Emperor provided her with a shield against these waves of heat. He scorched away the creature's remains, destroying them on an atomic level as he performed impromptu fusion. It was a good thing the yakuza had access to fairly powerful shields, for any being caught outside of those fields would be burnt to a crisp in mere seconds. Nova turned, sighed, and marched onto the battlefield. His first action was to negate the kolon grenades. Their mutative effects were halted mid-transformation, as he reached out with his powers. He then healed them, manually knitting their flesh back together. He pieced back together their organs and limbs, filled them with additional blood, and purified their body of foreign contaminants. Those who had been near death, and those who had already started changing into Kolons, were simply returned to life. Their bodies pieced together, their form returned to them, their minds reconstructed. It was not within the power of even the God Emperor to return the dead back to life, but he would save every life he could. For he could sense their desperation, and he could feel their pain as his own. All children of man were his children, sheep waiting for the shepherd. Whether they came from his world or another did not matter, whether they had fins or scales did not matter, whether they had psionic capabilities or not did not matter. He would protect all of them, and he would extend his protection to the multiverse itself. This would be his destiny in this grand machine, this would be his battle.
