She was born on Luna to a loving and caring mother and father, and when she was discovered to have psionic abilities when she was a child. The UED, eager to get their own Ghost program going, kidnapped her and forced her against her will to become a Ghost. For years she was subjected to cruel training to become a ghost.
When the UED sent the expeditionary fleet to the Koprulu Sector, she was attached as well with a number of other ghosts. She primarily served as stealth reconnaissance, spending most of her time secluded on hostile worlds gathering intelligence.
When the UED expeditionary fleet was destroyed, Sonia was not notified. After several weeks of not receiving orders or intel, she assumed that she had been burned and began a plan on getting offworld. Unluckily for her, she was on a zerg-infested world, with no way out. Several days passed after this realization, when she discovered a small Protoss unit searching some ruins, about to be ambushed by Zerg. She broke cloak and fired at the Zerg, drawing their attention and allowing the Protoss to react against the ambush. After the firefight, she traveled down to the Protoss and offered her skills for whatever they needed. At first they refused but after a few days of stalking them and notifying them of Zerg movement, ambushes and locations, they finally agreed to 'hire' her. She discovered that the Protoss had been tasked with locating and retrieving a small Protoss relic from the world, before it was to be bombarded. In exchange for a way off the planet, she would help them find the relic. Nearly a week of constant searching had drawn the Ghost and Protoss closer together, the both of them respecting each other in their own way. Mostly Sonia fangirling, and the Protoss being annoyed.
When they located the relic, they expected heavy resistance, however there was none. It appeared that the Zerg didn't know, or didn't care that the relic was there. They made their extract cleanly and smoothly. On the flight elsewhere, the Protoss zealot leading the patrol that Sonia had assisted gave her a psiblade as thanks. This is one of her most prized possessions. 
After leaving the Protoss to walk her own path, she went on to work with scientist groups studying various things in hazardous areas. She would escort scientists, or go where scientists could not to retrieve samples. Recently she had heard of Raynors Raiders and signed up with the intention of finding out more about sector affairs.

A Customized Hostile Environment Suit, a brand new C-10 Mk.VI Rifle, a well used P500 Heavy Pistol, a combat knife and a psyblade mounted on her right arm. Ammunition and additional equipment is adjusted to suit the mission hat hand.
