Mitchell is a more sweet when it's just him and her then when Atty and Kat are around. Like the hugs he offered her. He wouldn't do that with them there. Or when she is sick and he takes care of her. 

Edit: That's why the few times Lia cries it stops him from whatever he is doing to make sure shes okay. Even though she lies and always says she is. If that makes sense.
